$25,000 Unsolved Murder Reward POMPANO BEACH – Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) investigators are hoping that someone has a keen eye for detail, a quality they may need in order to solve the murder of Samuel Del Brocco, who was murdered on Sept. 11, 2010 in his Pompano Beach vacation home.
"Melinda Van Patten, 56, recently told a friend that she planned to obtain a restraining order against her husband, Kenneth Van Patten, today, said Sgt. Bob Ray, a sheriffs office spokesman. Kenneth Van Patten shot his wife multiple times in the torso Monday evening, Ray said. He also shot and wounded their roommate and friend, Glen Hamilton, 56, once in the buttocks before fatally shooting himself in the head."
Deputy Sheriff Derek Geer succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained the previous day while attempting to question a juvenile in the area of 30 Road and E Road, in Grand Junction, at approximately 11:15 am.
Victoria Irene Whitehurst died from an accidental gunshot wound. The incident happened at around 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, on Main Street in Pinetown. Deputies and Pinetown EMS responded to the call. Officials said after talking to witnesses and collecting evidence it was determined the girl was shot and killed after she and two juveniles were looking at a 12-gauge shotgun that an unnamed 11-year-old boy got for Christmas.

Golden Valley man shoots self A Golden Valley man was wounded in an accidental shooting on Sunday, August 18. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office investigated the incident reported at a swap meet in the 3200 block of N Bacobi Road.
