Paint colors to sell your home. For walls, I use Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige. or Sherwin Williams Naturel in Eggshell finish. For interior doors, molding, and trim, I use Sherwin Williams Super White in Semi-gloss finish. For ceilings, I use Sherwin Williams Ceiling Bright White (it's a Flat finish). Don't forget to paint INSIDE the closets.
We chose to paint the ceiling dark to create a stunning backdrop for the chandelier. Ceiling paint color is Mount Etna SW7625 Sherwin Williams. (I would have taken the crown molding across the top of the windows, as well.)
Haint Blue by Sherwin Williams. If you’re a true southerner you may already be familiar with the tradition of painting a porch ceiling a “Haint Blue.” It is said that doing this keeps away evil spirits. It also is supposed to keep away annoying mosquitoes since they mistake it for the sky!
Before and After: Our hearth room! What a difference a coffered ceiling, painted fireplace, gray walls, and dark wood floors make! Walls are Sherwin Williams March Wind and trim is Benjamin Moore Moonlight White in semi-gloss (fireplace is eggshell finish). The oak hardwood floors were sanded and re-stained a deep espresso brown by Walk on Wood (Rochester, MN). Special thanks to Karen at Design Studio B and Mike Allen Builders.
