This breed is found in the coldest areas of Southeastern Russia and in few areas of China and Korea. It is very sad to say but this is an endangered species. We have just 350-400 tigers in the wild areas and approximately 490 tigers in the zoos.
This picture taken on January 6, 2014 shows a Siberian tiger walking by a visitors' bus at the Siberian Tiger Park in Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang province. The Siberian Tiger Park was built in 1996, located on the north bank of the Songhua River and occupying an area of 1,440,000 square meters (355.8 acres), is the largest natural park for wild Siberian tigers in the world.
