In therapy, draw model and identify different stress factors as big or small stones. Talk about how to get rid of some of those stones.    Another way to discuss this is to draw a boat on the water. External stress factors=a craggy bottom, rough seas, floating objects etc. Life events =weather conditions. Resources=repairing a torn sail, using an oar, etc.
