Samantha Murray, Laura Asadauskaite, Yane Marques - Olympics modern pentathlon: Samantha Murray wins silver for Great Britain in the final event of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Lithuania's Laura Asadauskaite won as GB's Mhairi Spence, the world champion, finished 21st. British pentathletes have now won medals at all four Games since the women's event was introduced in 2000. Murray's medal was the 65th Team GB won in 2012.

UK judoka Gemma Gibbons wins silver - Gemma Gibbons has become Great Britain's first Olympic judo medallist for 12 years, despite losing her gold medal match to American Kayla Harrison. The London-born judoka had to settle for silver as Harrison landed two yuko scores in the -78kg final.
