The Temple in Jerusalem or Holy Temple ־was one of a series of structures which were historically located at the current site of the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem. Having been there I know that the Rabbis prefer Jewish visitors to not go to the Mosque because of its location.

This arrowhead was recently found in Jerusalem in material retrieved from the Temple Mount. It is of the type used by the Babylonian army that destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem in 586 BC. The attack is recorded in the Bible in 2 Kings 24:10.

The Double Gates: An enormous flight of steps leads to the Southern Wall from the south.  These are the steps that Jesus and other Jews walked up to approach the Temple, especially on the great pilgrimage festivals of Passover, Shavuot and Sukko.  The stairs that lead to the double gate are intact and "well-preserved."
