"Just as Christian came up to the Cross, his burden loosed from off his shoulders, fell from off his back, and began to tumble down the hill, and so it continued to do till it came to the mouth of the sepulchre. There it fell in, and I saw it no more!"

The Pilgrim's Progress, by John Bunyan. I have never read the book exactly, but ever since I was a child I have listened to a dramatized version of this on tape. As a child the bible was too deep for me to grasp very many concepts, but this, this I was able to understand and glean so much from. I think this book, helped me understand a great deal about redemption, the reason for pain, the list goes on. I will never stop loving this book, as well as the sequel.

John Bunyan (28 November 1628 – 31 August 1688) was an English Christian writer and preacher, who is well-known for his book The Pilgrim's Progress. Bunyan became a popular preacher as well as a very voluminous author, though most of his works consist of expanded sermons. In theology he was a Puritan, but not a partisan. He was no scholar, except of the English Bible, but that he knew thoroughly. He also drew much influence from Martin Luther's Commentary on the Epistle to the Galatians.

Dangerous Journey (A Pilgrim's Progress) btw, a couple of the images are intense for young children, for example Apollyon starting at 47:30, or in the Valley of the Shadow of Death at 1:00, the giants of Doubting Castle at about 1:25
