Although not up to the same historical level of Saving Private Ryan, The King's Speech or Lincoln, I believe Titanic carries a message just as strong as all three: material items don't go with us when we die. Our lives, and the people we love, are worth more than jewelry. I'm not the world's biggest James Cameron fan, but where he's got a point I absolutely agree with, especially when it's about the Titanic, I can't ignore it.
Titanic-I have been intrigued by the Titanic story since late 70's and have read a lot of material on her and was excited about this movie. I thought it was a good telling about the fateful voyage while interjecting a ficticious love story into it.
Titanic is in theaters today, and the critics are raving--this time over how director James Cameron has pulled off the definitive conversion of a classic film. But as you head out to enjoy this revamped epic, don't forget that you're all grown up now.
