How to Communicate with your 2-3 year old (especially when they don't listen!) - I actually read through all of these and they are great advice, especially the ones about keeping requests short and simple, rephrasing "no running" into "let's walk instead of run" so that "No" has more impact when you really need it, and using "when" instead of "if" to communicate you expect obedience. Good stuff!

Owen did this activity for an hour and a half straight. Picking out a shape centering it on a piece of card stock pressing the shape down holding the pencil correctly tracing the shape without moving it holding the scissors correctly following the line turning the paper as he cuts. So. Many. Skills. We probably should have started with only shapes with straight sides but for a three year old he's doing really well. So focused and proud of himself. by eatplaygrow
