NAVAHO WEAVING. I love the colors and patterns of Navaho rugs and blankets. For my senior project in art school, I built a 6-foot Navaho loom, dyed my own yarn (with natural dyes as close to the ones used by the Navaho weavers as possible), designed a rug and started weaving it. I ran out of time so I never finished it (I still got an A!).
NAVAJO TRANSITIONAL BLANKET softly woven, in natural ivory and dark brown, and aniline blue, red and orange, with a stylized Chief's Third Phase design, composed of nine concentric squares overlaying a banded and striped ground. 69 in. by 56 in.
