Many international universities are tuition-free or charge fees well below their U.S. counterparts. According to The Washington Post, American students in Germany, Norway, Finland, France, Sweden, Slovenia, and Brazil pay little or no tuition, but are expected to cover all of their living costs (proof of their ability to cover living expenses may be required). As a consequence, enrolling directly in a foreign college may save students considerable money.
