Dish detergent is a mild degreaser that leaves behind no residue (perfect for vinyl floors). Run one gallon of lukewarm water into your cleaning bucket, then add 1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol and 1/2 cup of vinegar. Finally, stir in two to three drops of liquid dish detergent (a little dish soap goes a long way). Stir with your mop, and clean your floor as usual. This works great as a daily or bi-weekly cleaner and disinfectant, keeping your floor shiny and bacteria free.
Homemade Laminate Floor Cleaner- I just made this and used it on my floors. They look great! I just hope the vinegar smell dissipates before Ben gets home. He hates when the house smells like a salad. (his words) haha. At least the floors are clean, disinfected and safe for Luke to play on. :)
Self-adhesive vinyl floor tiles make do-it-yourself installation feasible for many home owners. The seams between tiles can trap dirt and moisture, which loosen tiles over time, but sealing the floor helps the seams resist infiltration of damaging materials
