Sep. 13th, 2013: "Nel blu dipinto di blu" (English: In the Sky, Painted Blue), popularly known as "Volare" (to fly), is a song recorded by Italian singer-songwriter Domenico Modugno, released as a single in February 1958. It was the first Grammy winner for Record of the Year & Song of the Year in 1958. The song was later translated in several languages & recorded by a wide range of performers (the one in my head was Dean Martin)

Right up there with the versions by Dean Martin and Rosemary Clooney, Bobby Rydell's version of 'Sway' from 1961 continues to be a fan fav version of this classic song. Rydell would resurrect it in 1976 making a hit with his disco version of this same tune. Here's his original 1961 hit with 'Sway.' It was a surprise hit as the 'B' side to his #1 hit 'Volare'' on the 'A' side.
