There's never a bad time to dive back into the archives and watch some good movies. And if you have some time on your hands, this might be a good time to binge some modern-day classics. With that in mind, I've come up with 20 essential titles from the past 15 years that you should reexamine or, if you've never seen them, delve into. 1. “Donnie Darko” (2001)
It's written by someone I admire a lot from their work at Cracked.com, and I think Paul Giamatti is brilliant. I also love Bubba Ho Tep and the Phantasm movies, so I really did think this was going to be a home run. No such luck - it starts quite strong, and the intrigue is there, but the third act plays out in very generic way, and the production budget is too low for the effects required. It's got a Donnie Darko vibe to it, though to JDATE's credit, there is resolution to the randomness.
Stephen Hawking - A Brief History of Time [Full Movie] - A film about the life and work of the cosmologist, Stephen Hawking, who despite his near total paralysis, is one of the great minds of all time.
