1/5/14: Cheese board - made a great cheese board last night for a party. Used honey goat cheese, white extra sharp cheddar, yellow sharp cheddar, camembert, wensleydale with cranberries, merlot bellavitano for the cheeses (something for everyone) & added italian dry salami & proscuttio, then finished off with dried apricots & fresh raspberries (and crackers obviously) IT WAS A HIT!
Blue Wensleydale cheese is handcrafted made in North Yorkshire, England. Made from cow's milk, and is a variation of Stilton cheese but more firm. It is matured six months and lightly pressed for only 24 hours before being wrapped in muslin cloth. It is a hard, blue-veined cheese, with a mellow and less salty taste appeals to newcomers and cheese connoisseurs.
