July 22,  2003: SADDAM HUSSEIN'S SONS ODAI AND QUSAI ARE KILLED  -    Qusay and Uday Hussein, sons of the former Iraqi dictator, are killed in a long gun battle with U.S. forces in Mosul, Iraq. Their death was celebrated by many Iraqis as they were believed to be even more ruthless than their father, who was captured alive five months later by U.S. forces.
