The Wild Wild West TV show was a 60 minute western action series on CBS that was like no other. Special Agents James West and Artemus Gordon were spys for President Ulysses S. Grant shortly after the civil war. In every other way, they could be easily confused with James Bond of the 20th century. They had a "high-tech" railroad car stocked with a compliment of advanced weapons.
Robert Conrad and Ross Martin starred in the "The Wild Wild West" TV series that ran 4 seasons (104 episodes) from September 17, 1965 to April 4, 1969. Two television movies were made with the original cast in 1979 and 1980, and the series was adapted for a motion picture in 1999.
Auditions for cowboys, 1887 Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in the late 1800's had it's fair share of cowboys. Many of them were sharp shooters and horse performers. First, they had to show the casting call that they knew what they were doing, and audition. In 1887, a job as a cowboy in the Wild West show made one happy cowboy.
