Clytemnestra by John Collier Date painted: c.1914 Oil on canvas, 238 x 147.8 cm Collection: Worcester City Museums I love this painting for 2 reasons: first is the palpable haughtiness of Clytemnestra which is overwhelming. Second is the costume, which is not properly Greek by Mycenaean or Minoan which would be historically accurate. Bravo.
