“I have often listen to it, gazed at it, and I have always learn something from it. One can learn much from a river.” (Chapter 5, pg 40) River plays a big role in this novel as it is what separated world from the spiritual world. Meaning it changed Siddhartha's life as he crossed the river and entered the world with love and materialistic goods.
