I know it's not furniture, but here is a photo frame that I have french polished for a present.

Here are two beautiful Balinese style tables that I've just completed. I absolutely love the timber grain that is showing through! Both tables have been sanded back and stained with an oak stain and have then been sealed all over for protection. I think the legs on these tables are absolutely stunning!

This was a fun kid's desk that I painted in Dulux "Precious Pink" and sealed with varnish.

Three white bar stools. The aluminium frames have been sprayed white, with a high gloss finish. The timber seats have been painted in a white chalk paint to give it a streaky effect, and then sealed with varnish for everyday use.

These bar stools just sold over the weekend. They are from the IKEA Ingolf range, and have been painted in a pale beige chalk paint, with light distressing all over.

Here is my latest project. It's a lovely little side table that has been refurbished to give it a modern feel. The top of the table has been stained in a walnut colour and the legs have been painted in a white chalk paint. The combination of the dark rich top with the fresh white legs help to give it such a nice fresh feel. The slatted timber top makes it so versatile that it could be used as either an outdoor or indoor side table.

I loved working with this table. It is such an interesting piece, because it has two different surfaces. The legs and lower section are made in pine and the top is made of veneer. I have never stripped veneer before, so I was worried about the beautiful pattern on top. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. I then stained and varnished the table for protection. I love the learning process when working with furniture.

This nest of tables has been in my family for over 45 years, but was in desperate need of a bit of TLC. So I'm currently stripping them back to bare timber, shellacing them and then french polishing all three tables. They are made of maple and have beautiful turned Queen Anne legs. The photo shows the before and after of one of the completed tables. As you can see, the french polish coat gives the table a beautiful "glass effect" and also helps to bring out the grain of the timber.

I'd be keeping these ones if we didn't already have bar stools at home. This pair have been painted in a lovely vibrant aqua chalk paint and have been lightly distressed on the edges to give them a coastal vibe. They have also been sealed all over for everyday use. These bar stools would compliment any white kitchen perfectly as an accent piece, to help give it a shot of colour.

This rocking chair used to be owned by a lovely friend of mine. The features on this chair are so beautiful and ornate, giving it a bit of old world charm! It has been sprayed in Dulux Beige Royal, which on this piece appears to be more of a light cream colour than beige. And it has been sealed all over in a glossy hardened shellac for protection. I can see many happy hours spent sitting in this chair!
