Sutton's Beach hosts Festival of the Sails annually and is a huge success every time. This venue has the added benefit of fixed infrastructure such as the sails on suttons restaurant and bar, amenities, BBQ shelters and playground for the kids.
Oaks Mon Komo, Redcliffe hotel rooms would be available for interstate event attendees, volunteers and performers. Any VIP guest speakers or performers could be put up in one of these fantastic hotel rooms.
Redcliffe Lagoon is a family favourite and is located on the beachfront opposite the Redcliffe Jetty. If the event was hosted along Redcliffe Parade then the Lagoon is an added attraction for festival goers and it is completely free to the public. The area also has plenty of free BBQ spaces which can be appealing to families who like to bring their own food/picnic to the event.
Woodford Folk Festival: A lantern parade along the Redcliffe foreshore would be just stunning! Attendees could create their own personal lanterns throughout the day at the arts and craft marquee, then participate in a fabulous light show in the evening demonstrating their works of art!
Camping would allow tourists from all over Australia to participate in the event by giving them a cheaper option for accommodation. Camping is also sometimes a more affordable option for families, and also appeals to the older generation who might be retired and travelling around the country.
Queens Beach at Redcliffe is an ideal public space to host the 'My Favourite Thing' event. Plenty of room to set up markets and the main street could be temporarily closed down to cater for the large volume of attendees, stages and street performers.
Woody Point Jetty has only seen events such as the fun jetty to jetty run however this could be a potential venue as the main street forms a cup-de-sac which is fringed with cafes, restaurants and bars.
