Greek Orthodox church of Taksiarchis, Kayabağ, Turkey.
The church is dedicated to the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. It was built around 1835-1842. The original Turkish name of the village was Darsiyak which is a distortion of the Greek word Taksiarchis. British geologist William John Hamilton visited the village in 1835 and noted the presence of a monastery and church in the village. He referred to the village as the "Town of Yanartaş." The word Yanartaş means "burning stone" in Turkish. It's believed that during the construction of the church a precious stone was placed above an eastern window. The stone was so bright it could be seen miles away. Photo source: Kayseri with its Greek and Armenian Cultural Heritage, Hrant Dink Foundation Publication, 2016.

Holy Trinity (Hagia Triada) Moschonisi
One of the churches of Moschonisi was the Holy Trinity (Hagia Triada). The Greeks called it Hagia Triada i Moschonisiotissa (Gr: Αγιά Τριάδα η Μοσχονησιώτισσα). The church was built in the mid-19th century. Its interior was brilliantly decorated with elaborate plasterwork and Corinthian capitals. The photo above shows the church after it was desecrated by the Turks with its sacred objects broken and thrown outside. The photo below is how the church looks today.
