Broad Beans (Fava Beans)
Broad Beans (Fava Beans) Vicia faba major broad bean pic aquadulceIt always amazes me how many people claim they don’t like Broad Beans – I always think this is a shame; they must have been introduced to those massive, tough things you find in the shops, not tasty, tender home grown beans. Passionfruit
I am thrilled that our passionfruit vine is now dropping gorgeous, purple fruit. They sat on the vine all winter, green and dormant – but I am glad to say with the onset of spring, things have changed. I love passionfruit, and think they are an easy to grow plant that everyone should have. I mean – who doesn’t enjoy passionfruit? They are expensive to buy in the shops, can be preserved, and can turn simple desserts into a gourmet experience.

Asparagus
Growing Asparagus. Being a perennial plant, asparagus is a very rewarding addition to your vegetable garden. Asparagus plants are dormant over winter, which is when the mature crowns can be divided and replanted. Asparagus can also be grown from seed (sown in spring) and is available as seedlings most of the year.
