We removed the tired but modern bathroom from our circa 1900 Wellington villa and replaced it with a fit for era room

I chose a vintage style hall table for the vanity and had it converted with the addition of a vessel basin. The wall mounted taps avoided the need for holes in the top. Baskets underneath the vanity provide storage, and the "look through" to the wall creates visual space

Recessed shelving provides storage for towels behind the door - and close to the shower. Using the wall space meant extra storage - something villas often lack!

Details - bath tap - according to the professionals, taps are the "jewellery" of the room - so I splurged on some vintage inspired pieces. I love porcelain handles - I carried these through into my kitchen also

Recessed shelving for spare supplies - I found some pictures of recessed shelving in a magazine and I just had to have some - luckily I had an understanding builder who made three of them! This one, opposite the toilet, has room for some vintage French tins and a few extra rolls

Details - vintage roll holder - something that was hard to find! A roll holder that would compliment the room. This one came from eBay

Apothecary style storage - I have always admired the apothecary style kitchens and bathrooms in the magazines. I set mine up with two vintage kauri boxes and a selection of jars and candles in different shapes and sizes

Details - vintage outlets and switches - these are a fascination of my husband and I - putting back all the old details of switches and fittings. We love our Edwardian switches!

Cast iron claw foot bath - this bath was a compromise - I really wanted a slipper, and my husband wanted cast iron. Fortunately, I was able to find a bath that had both. The cast iron keeps it warm for hours. I just love the bath sitting against the lemongrass colour
