Leonardo da Vinci - Italian Renaissance

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci (1452-1519) was a painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist and writer. He was the archetypical Renaissance Man and one of the most diversely talented individuals ever. He was born out of wedlock to Piero da Vinci and a peasant woman Caterina in Vinci near Florence. He never married, worked in Milan, Venice, Bologna and Florence, and died in France at a home given to him by King Francis I
