What I fed my 6 kids today
I'll admit it, there wasn't much cooking going on this day. It was a busy day and my husband and I were doing our best to get the kids fed with balanced meals (protein, grain, fruits & veggies) they would actually eat. I remember thinking, "Am I just lazy when it comes to cooking? How did the women before us cook every single meal?" And the answer is, they didn't. I don't know how we got it in our heads that we are the first generation to resort to quick ready to eat items when in a pinch. I look back at some of the recipes my grandmother used and you can bet canned foods was a big part of the meal! On top of that we are now living in a society where in most households both parents have to work. We have less time than we did before, we do the best we can!

Friday nights = pizza and a movie night 🍿🎬🥤🍕 Since I gave birth at the start of summer we planned this season to be very mellow. The kids weren't in any extra activities for the past two months. Our schedule was our own. The summer was filled with lots of beach sunsets, pool days, and movie nights. But that all changes next week. Their sports and extra curricular activities begin again and homeschooling will be ramping back up. I am always a little sad when summer ends. I love the uninterrupted schedule and the many days at the beach and pool. But I am also excited to get back into a routine and see my babies thrive and make new friends in their activities! I guess the change up makes me appreciate each season when they come🤗 How are you feeling now that summer is coming to end? ☀️
