1000 Books Before School, a program which encourages parents and carers to read 1000 books with their children before they begin school, is open for registration. Reading to preschool-aged children has been shown to develop early literacy by building vocabulary and language skills essential for learning to read. WHAT'S ON - SEPTEMBER HIGHLIGHTS: Hume is the first Australian library to achieve eSmart Status! This means that Hume is equipped to help customers use technology in a smart, safe and responsible way. To celebrate this achievement, a ‘Cybersafety Expo’ will be held on Friday 19 September, 1.30-4pm at the Hume Global Learning Centre – Craigieburn.

The results are in for the Youth Photography Competition 2014: How do you see it?  The winners and runners up were announced at an awards ceremony at the Hume Global Learning Centre – Craigieburn.  This year’s competition attracted more than 290 entries from young talented photographers all across Hume City.  Congratulations to all the winners and runners up - click through to view the online gallery.
