I can stand proudly next to my work as i believe Ive kept my values of what art is- the freedom of expression, this body of work is my own struggle with lost love. i wanted to create a figure that's lost in space. i wanted my selfportrait to be a silhouette in the shadows to represent this emotions the shadow blocks my identity as this lostness & isolation is shaping my perception on the world additionally Ive positioned myself trying to emerge from the darkness to emphasis the dents of…

Again I'm interested in braking the sires up by adopting a documentary approach by adding detail images such as this image. However i feel as though I'm being to ambiguous here, I'm not getting the same feeling as I do from the other images. However I'm happy with the direction of the coloring and softness I'm really attracted to the coldness and slight purity.

Reflecting back on both my research and WIP boards on pintrest I'm drawn to create a body of work that deludes reality and creates a alternative environment that is gloomy and uninviting this is because i focussing on photographing my emotion. capturing something inteengibal has made me more as a narrater through my images as I'm traveling through my own exploration of emotions.

Having divide between the camera and the figure i wanted to play with the depth, this was to showcases a seats of frustration, need and want to brake down this separation, loneliness and isolation to spark the feelings go togetherness. Here the figure is being absorbed by the darkness, this is quite climatic for the sires as the figure has stepped back from trying to brake the separation and has exerted the loneliness to be his.

Im drawn to use representation and symbolism through my work with this objective i photographed the body. I created sand dune shapes through using shadows and light and a sheet, i also got my ex-girlfrind to be the one under the sheets for me that is importent as the sand-dunes seperate the self expression images and the dunes act like memories cutting back to the connection i once had of being under the sheets. Dunes also symbolise togetherness of two grains of sand connected to create a…

Another impact the sand dunes have in the sires is that they seperate the self-portrait images and also provide a different plan of focus. The dune images are the more metaphoric images that aim to build tension in the series as this longing for the togetherness has coursed this isolation and lostness in the self-portraits.

As an artist I'm happy with my journey through my creative progress through this project. i started with a theme and wasn't satisfied with my work, technically i satisfied but as the artist i wasn't emotionally connected to my work. Reflecting on my WIP i released I wasn't an outsider looking in to the men who i was photographing i was trying to understand how i should be feeling with my own loss of love. Now through my photography I've confronted this emotions that were burning underneath

Im attracted to the abstract nature of this images as i forced on the play and exchange between the shadows and the highlights and how the figure is lost in between both. Also the reviling of this image is sound to the success of the sires as this is the closing image that shows the most of the subject i want to leave the viewer something to hang onto but not to much that I'm to reviling as i still want to push the viewer to inject their own self to my images.

Through my process of shoot I've notice the most successful images are the ones that have a strong play with shadows and lights, as a viewer the image doesn't revile its full self it only suggest and pushes the viewer to unpack the images. here the double shadow of the head pulls my eye, this was achieved though using two light sources, for future shoots i will aim to have the two light sources as the lights have created my interest and curiosity with my own images.

Here I'm just looking at a different way to break up the sires sires by actually getting on the other side of the sheet to see what it may look like. i was thinking of maybe having the interplay between two figures through out my sires to show the loss of connection or the divide between the two, this may show the the disconnection between two people, however this will cover up the feelings of isolation that i want to focus upon. i may look to add another abstracted figure in separate…
