Painted for GDUK 2009 where it took bronze in the LotR-category. The models is slightly converted: the head is repositioned, the hood and new beard sculpted. Also, I sculpted a few pouches, added a proper sheeth to his dagger, and extended the staff to reach the ground. The base of made up using a root from the garden, wood chips, brass etched leaves, flock, sand, and dried flowers. The display base is resin and from http://dragonforge.com/. I love the concept of the war between the goblins and the dwarves- bitter generations of hatred, desperate fighting in the dark and gloom, all unheard of by the wider world as it goes on beneath their feet. I was fortunate to get one of the LotR Dwarf Battle boxes a few years ago, but only painted the figures sporadically. I’ve picked up a few extra second hand figures along the way. Because I painted these at different times there are subtle variations in colour, and not-so-subtle…

HI! This miniature is finalist of this year Golden Demon in Germany. I really like Gimli but I'm afraid this is not good miniature for competitions ;) so i thik finall was great achievement for my as a painter and him as a very little sculpt. I hope you like him.
