I was able to work in a graduation card for this week’s Sketch Challenge. It’s so great that you can make a card with the colors of a school and add the year to personalize it.

Here's how I made my graduation cap for the card I made yesterday. First start with a 1" strip of Basic Black card stock. Lay one point on the gutter of the paper trimmer, and the other end lined up with the 3/4" mark on the right side of the gutter. Then cut! Next flip the piece over, and line up the angle you just cut on the 1" line on the left of the gutter. And cut. That creates the mortarboard piece - a perfect parallelogram! While simple to create, the look of this card is striking! Made this card with a set from Papertrey Ink, the sentiment from My Favorite Things. Used a couple Spellbinder square dies for the frame and a Papertrey Ink impression plate to emboss. Thanks for looking hope you have a great week:)!!
