This last week I was sewing quilt bindings like crazy. We were able to get a bunch of quilts done for Seattle Children's hospital at the little quilt party some ladies from church organized, but they needed bindings sewn on. I always dread the finishing work involved with sewing bindings, but sewing all these reminded me they're really not that bad. Anyway, here are some pictures of the I-Spy quilts. Finished this I Spy quilt last night. I just did a simple stitch in the ditch with a fun squiggle down the sashing. I have 2 bolts of this yummy dark chocolate minky... ...and since it is for a little boy, I cut a piece for the backing. I explored my thread colors and finally came up with this So Fine thread called "Sagebrush"t hat really blended with all the colors. I used it top and back, because it never shows your color on minky anyway.

My I Spy Snowball Quilt is finally complete. I exchanged 5" I Spy charms through several flickr swaps and private trades, adding to my already extensive stash of novelty prints to end with 300 charms for a twin size quilt. Three of us, Judy, Kate, and myself have cut and pooled a lot of our fun theme fabrics to make I-Spy quilts. We keep the patches together in a 'community' plastic storage container. This is so handy when one of us needs to make a baby quilt! In order to keep the variety fresh, new fabrics are added as necessary.
