The above pattern is of Mamluk period and the below design was used during the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum at the Gok Madrasa and Mosque in Amasya, Turkey (1266-67), and at a much later date by Mamluk artists at the Sultan Qansuh al Ghuri Complex in Cairo (1503-05).
