The Kaufmann House, set into the California desert, enjoyed a restoration after years of neglect and is to be auctioned in May.

This is a case study of the Kaufmann Desert House in Palm Springs, California by Richard Neutra. It was done for the course Design 2 and helped me develop research skills as well as three-dimensional exploration of space through model making.

"The home has an unusual resonance when you see it," says Kaufmann house owner Brent Harris. "It has a volumetric, spatial beauty that changes throughout the day, particularly at twilight. There are a lot of great Neutra houses, but this has different feel entirely.
