a series of photos of my room - - a lower middle class college student in california. i constantly feel lesser because of my lack of “aesthetic” but most of the people who can maintain a singular aesthetic have money to afford it.

There is no need to tear down and replace old wood paneling if the only problem with it is that it is dirty or dull. You can clean even 50-year-old wood paneling to make it look bright, shiny and new again.
