There are hares in the field behind the forge. A source of great joy, they never fail to stop us in our tracks. Eostre, was a Celtic goddess associated with the moon, and with mythic stories of death, redemption, and resurrection during the turning of winter to spring. All hares were sacred to her, and acted as her messengers. These legends were subsumed into early Christianity with Eostre’s hare becoming the Easter bunny.
