We dressed at as Nursery Rhyme characters on Friday afternoon. We had a parade to show off our costumes. We made Hey Diddle, Diddle books. We made star wands for "Twinkle Twinkle LIttle Star". We made thumb print and dot painting spiders for "Itsy Bitsy Spider." We had a "Little Miss Muffet" obstacle…

a young boy is holding up a teapot shaped like a person with a heart on his head

I made this teapot costume for my son’s PreK graduation. They each dressed as a nursery rhyme. I used foam board. Traced out my pattern using household items. I cut it out with an X-acto knife. Scissors tore it apart. Finger painted it. The arm spout is not attached to the teapot body, it is attached to the arm with elastic. I then attached elastic cross straps with hot glue for the teapot. I also glued on rick rack trim. I did not add a back panel because he wouldnt be able to sit down.

We ended our unit with a Nursery Rhyme Day. Each student got to dress up as their favorite nursery rhyme character and we had…

Before my son was even born, I had already decided that my boy was going to dress up as Popeye. In doing the research, there were a few variations on the look depending on what era of Popeye you found. I started with a simple black onesie and then sewed the nude arms to the cuffs, tipped in…
