Here is a very rare and totally fabulous 1920s silk velvet opera coat with the biggest, light gold coloured velvet ruched and padded collar that I have ever seen! It has no fastenings and is designed to be worn open. The collar falls to the waist of the coat and runs all around the front and back of the shoulders. The sleeves have velvet bands applied to the top of the base velvet fabric and the bottom of the coat also has an applied velvet band. It is lined in a cream coloured silk.

It uses the texture of high-quality velvet to the fullest, with a simple yet highly calculated cut. The rolled collar puts emphasis on the wearer's slender neck, which gives the coat an even more dramatic look.
