Heather Whitworth on Instagram: "One of my cute followers asked if I could do a video on quilt binding corners. Well, @athomewithamyy here are your corners as promised 😍. 🧵 When I first started quilting about 15 years ago, my quilt corners looked pretty terrible to be honest. But I kept at it and practiced a lot, and now corners are second nature to me. One of the best things I did to get my corner practice in was I made about 8 small quilted wall hangings to go in my daughter’s nursery, that’s 32 corners I got to practice on… after that, corners weren’t as intimidating anymore. It’s all about the reps 👊. 🧵 Many people ask me what size binding I use. I use anything from 2.5 inch, 2.75 inch, to 3 inch wide. It just depends on the width of binding I want on the edge of my quilt. Missy Luukkonen on Instagram: "This is the simplest way for you to make your quilt as you go pieces. No pressing, no glue, no pins. It’s much faster for me and I can crank out a bunch of shapes at once!! I am using the template set from Daisy and Grace for my quilt. I’ve use the hexie the most but also have the jewel, diamond and half hexie in this quilt. This method is quick, but takes a little practice. My iron is on standby just in case I need to use it!! Layer your pieces in the following order: Quilt backing Batting Quilt front Double fold the edges. First fold to the edge, then up and over the front. Use clips to hold it in place until you are ready to sew. I have been making about 20 hexies at a time this way, then I sew them and make another batch. The Susannah Quilt Block is a nice easy block to not only make but also cut since it only relies on squares. This is the first version https://youtu.be/2nYz0hTiwA8 The quilt block we are making is a variation on the original Susannah quilt block.
