Rome is one of the most-visited cities in Europe. In turn, Vatican City is one of the most visited destinations in Rome. So you can bet the Vatican is an extremely busy place. Since I travel so much and I hate being in crowded places, I’ve made avoiding them an art form. That includes an ability to avoid crowds at the Vatican.

Visiting the Vatican city in Rome was something of a big deal when we visited.
