Thimble display ideas

My friend Annie, who lives just down the street, and is in my Little Bits miniature quilt group, has a wonderful collection of thimbles which inspired me to start my collection. And I recently found this angel top, so I found a bottle (salt shaker) it would fit, filled it with tiny shells and tied pretty ribbon around it to enjoy on my dresser. A small vintage printers tray style shelving unit that was once used for displaying thimbles. Ideal for displaying small items or a collection of small items. This display unit was purchased from an estate of a collector. I have restored it by mending the joints then sanding back the dated varnish or shellac. This gives a nice rustic look to the vintage item which I prefer for displaying old items. The item is not waxed or varnished to give a matt appearance. This little hanging unit…

This is a used thimble display case that came with a closable glass/wood front door, that I repurposed for a geoswag display case. The outer edges are filled with items that I drop in geocaches and the inner ones are my favorites that I picked up along the way.
