Uilleann Pipes - Traditional Gaelic Bagpipes

Uilleann Pipes. Uilleann (pronounced ill-in) is Gaelic for “elbow”, signifying the way the instrument is played, with the piper compressing the bellows between their elbows and ribs. Unlike traditional, mouth-blown bagpipes, the uilleann pipes are quiet enough to be played indoors, and also includes what is known as a chanter, which allows for a full two-octave range for playing.
