James W R Linton - An Arts and Crafts silver, gold and opal necklace, Perth, Western Australia, circa 1918. A rare example of the work of jeweller and silversmith James W. R. Linton. Linton played an important role in the development of the decorative arts in Western Australia during his 30 years' teaching at the Perth Technical School. He introduced English Arts and Crafts ideals from his study of metalwork and enamelling at the Sir John Cass Technical Art School in London.
