Original Campbell Town Hospital.    Campbell Town Tasmania.  Tasmania's first regional hospital was opened at Campbell Town in 1855. One of Campbell Towns most active early citizens Dr William Valentine was the hospitals first Doctor from 1839 until his death in 1876.

"The Grange", Campbell Town, Tasmania -This building was designed by the well-known architect James Blackburn and built in 1847 for Dr William Valentine. Due to his astronomical contacts, the Transit of Venus was observed in December 1874 by a party of American astronomers on the land adjoining "The Grange" on the northern side. "The Grange" was ultimately sold to the Leake Family after his death.

Campbell Town, Tasmania - A group of claret ash trees situated within the Pioneer Memorial Avenue is dedicated to Abel Jans Tasman who named Tasmania as "Anthony Van Diemens Land" in December 1642. The claret ash trees were dedicated by the Chief Commissioner of the Netherlands Indies, Dr C.J. van Hoogstraten in December 1942.  The brass plaque was placed at the trees on the 24th January 1949.
