Crucial Things to Consider when Planning an Australian Road Trip

Key Checklist for Making Sure you're Prepared and Ready to Experience Freedom on the Open Australian Road {Big World Small Pockets}

The world's longest, straightest part of a road is the 90 Mile Straght (146.6km) - a section of the Eyre Highway which runs across the Nullabor Plain, from Western Australia and into South Australia. Crossing the Nullabor at (silly) speed will take 24 hours. But its better to take 4 days or more to explore the many country towns, see the Great Australian Bight, the desert, the roadhouses and TRY to spot a tree as you drive along the highway(Nullabor = treeless). Fascinating.

I have driven this road. The world's longest, straightest part of a road is the 90 Mile Straight - a section of the Eyre Highway which runs across the Nullabor Plain, from South Australia and into Western Australia.

Ceduna wharf sunset South Australia

I captured the shot right on sunset. The Turner-esque sky cast a stunning glow across the wharf, before I had to whip back to work for the final hours of light.
