Coober Pedy is an Underground City in South Australia mainly inhabited by workers at the nearby opal fields, which are the largest in the world. The residences are underground to escape the scorching heat. A few years ago, a man fixing the stairway to his home found over 100,000 dollars worth of opal.
Silverton Hotel, Silverton, near Broken Hill, New South Wales / Silverton is a small village at the far west of NSW, 25 km north-west of Broken Hill. At the 2006 census, Silverton had a population of 89 people. The town is often referred to as a ghost town; however, there remains a small permanent population and mainly tourist related businesses.
