Self-Care Reminder
It is ok to not do your best. Sometimes just showing up is your best, and that's OK. The constant pressure to excel, and be productive doesn't serve us. You don't have to prove your worth - you are worthy no matter what.
Obligation Versus Choice
I‘ve noticed when I am exhausted and overwhelmed that I can conflate the two. So choices can feel like obligations and therefore more is added to the mental load and TO DO list. Knowing this, I try to remember to step back, take a deep breath and ask myself ; What can I let go of? What would I love? What is most important? What do I choose? The same action, as a choice, has a very different energy about it when you know you are choosing vs feeling obliged to do it. What choices are you making today?

Self-care is being touted as a miracle cure-all. Overwhelmed – you need self-care. Exhausted and burnt out – solution: self-care. Lost your passion for anything, no motivation, procrastinating, overworked, broke – self care to solve it all. Except it doesn’t. Or at least not in the way we are being sold self-care.

There are so many self-care to do lists around. When I have been at my most overwhelmed and struggling, there is no way any of the things on most of the lists would have helped. These are the things that make the most difference for me.
