Tulum, Mexico: Hip restaurants, turtles on the beach of Akumal and snorkeling in a Cenote, Tulum has a lot to offer! We didn't know that the main street with most hostels is so far from the beach and it is quite busy and touristic, but it was definitely worth going.
It get's crazy hot in March in Mexico, so we decided to start traveling and took a little bus towards the mountains. At 2500m altitude, the village of San Jose del Pacifico has enchanted us. A Temazcal (sweat lodge) ceremony on full moon and magic moments in the forest the day after.... 🍄🌲 Reading my blog article about these days is still deeply moving me. 🙏
Mexico: A weekend trip from Mazunte, visiting a friend in Puerto Escondido. The Zicatela beach area is anything but an insider tip, but the beach behind the rocks on the left is wild and lonely. Try to find it when you're there!
In a long night bus ride we cross the country and arrive to jungle feeling and the Mayan Ruins in Palenque. Mexico has so many different places to explore! Has anyone been to Palenque?
Oaxaca City alone is great, and the surroundings get even better! We were exploring on our own, no tourist bus trips. Monte Alban and Hierve del Agua are magical!

The Zicatela beach area in Puerto Escondido Mexico is anything but an insider tip, but the beach behind the rocks on the left is wild and lonely. On the left on the stones there is a way up over the rocks and behind it are pretty cliffs, a cave and a beautiful lonely, stony path to a deserted beach! In the cave we did wonderful yoga and enjoyed the solitude. Further back on the beach with the rocks there are great shady places in the rocks where you can just enjoy the peace.
Travel tips for my favorite place on the Pacific coast in Mexico. Mazunte is not far along the coast from Puerto Escondido and next major town is Pochutla, from there you can easily reach it by collectivo and taxi. The village Mazunte is long stretched along a road that leads to San Augustinillo and Zipolite. From this road a few small ones go down to the beach, where most of the life takes place in the village.
Sitting still for a long time was always difficult for me, I was firmly convinced that meditating is not for me and I did not understand why others do it … My first 10 day silent meditation retreat. Yoga and watching my thoughts, no speaking allowed. Mazunte Mexico is the most beautiful place to do such a retreat.

On the way from the jungle towards the Mexican Carribean we stopped at a small place: Crystal clear, blue water and deep cenotes – Laguna Bacalar was a sleepy paradise for us.
