the effects of Domestic Violence on children
This video showcases the effects of domestic abuse on children. I found this interesting as it creates a lesson for children that is deemed okay. In this environment patterns are formed that effect how adolescents perceive relationships and how to treat each other that you are in ‘love’ with. This relates to the reading by Head space as they inforce that as youth workers demonstrating and teaching positive and healthy relationships is of the highest importance.

This scene from the film ‘Lion’ demonstrates the sense of ethnic belonging as the protagonist hunts down his birth mother after being disconnected since 5 years old. I found this story captivating as it captures a partial sense of belonging as he felt accepted by his Australian family that adopted him, yet his investment into finding his home town and the family that he left behind when he got lost.
This quote captures the negative effects of not fully exploring your own identity and in particular adolescents creating a façade in order to fit in or be accepted in social settings. What I found interesting was the fact that the quote so quickly encompassed how not being who we are whole heartedly will lead to unhappiness and a sense of self- loathing.

The blog highlights the factors of brain development, peer pressure and identity development which are all realistic and evident impacting elements young people in today’s society experience.

This clip is interesting as it captures a moment between a parent and child having a sheltered conversation about sex. This is very common for young adolescents as parents can often be stand offish about explaining sexual terms to their children. This initial knowledge is the foundation of their preparation for intimacy as they begin experimenting throughout adolescence.

This acrostic poem styled informative poster is interesting in how it poses relevant questions that encourage 'Netiquette'. It highlights the importance of respect and compassion online as you associate with others in an online setting. Whilst representing the ideology behind 'netiquette' it also prompts more thought on your personal experiences with online spaces and how you have been treated, thus depicting how you will in turn treat others.
