How to Choose the Right Packaging for Your Home Baking Business
Starting a home baking business is an exciting adventure. When I first started one thing I did was I started looking on Pinterest for packaging ideas. The right packaging not only protects your baked goods but also enhances their visual appeal and can communicate your brand's identity. But where do you start? Here’s a guide to help you find the perfect packaging for your home baking business.
It’s been a journey filled with a lot of doubts and fears, successes and failures. But I kept going even though there were people in my life who thought I’d lost my mind leaving a stable career to open a home bakery. I’ve learned that a home bakery can take you in so many directions. It doesn’t have to mean only long days baking for hours. Grow your business and then make changes to align your business to your own strengths and passions. That’s the freedom that being your own boss bring...
We all know the importance of social media, but word of mouth is POWERFUL. You all know what I’m talking about! One customer turns into two, and then those two turn into four…it snowballs. Definitely use the power of social media to increase your sales and grow your customer base, but don’t forget that happy customers can spread the word, too!
I love using parchment to bake brownies because it keeps me from having to PRY them out of the pan. And I know it looks funny cutting with a silicone spatula, but it works! I used the brownie recipe from the Cookies and Cups Cookbook, but you can use your favorite recipe. We ate this entire pan of brownies last night with ice cream, and they were delicious! #browniebaker #homebakeryshop #bakingfromhome #bakerybusiness #brownietip #bakingbrownies
I’m actually not sure if I had a flip phone when I started. 😂😂 Today in my coaching group, we were talking with Tanya of _freedombakes, and she told us her story of how she started baking. She had no idea how to bake, and figured it out as she went along. The week of her first market, she looked for every and any excuse to skip it. Her husband finally told her she was going no matter what! She now has a thriving business and sells out consistently.😊🇺🇸 My point is this: you can find every ex...
The link for these mini cake pans are on my website homepage. Or you can comment “cake pan” on this reel and I can send the link to your DM box. Okay, couple important updates: Last week, the Father’s Day bundle of boxes and papers I offered sold out super fast and some of you were wanting a way to be notified immediately. Starting this week, every Thursday will be devoted to announcing anything fun that’s launching for the weekend. The info will be on that day’s reel, Instagram story and...
If you’re just starting out in your home bakery, use everything you do as a learning experience. You will learn so much in your first year, and even the “failures” are going to help you grow. Every home baker starts somewhere, and every home baker learns what works and what does not. I’m still learning after 16 years! I’m glad you’re here and I hope you find encouragement and inspiration on this page. We home bakers need to stick together.♥️
Over fifteen years of selling baked goods, and I’ve been everywhere! And if you’re just starting out, you may be searching for just the right way and venue for your treats. I’ve done farmers’ markets, pop-up shops, orders, deliveries, events, craft fairs, weddings, catering, treat boxes for meetings, wholesale, and open houses. There’s also porch pick-ups, a self serve bakery shed, a food truck or trailer, office deliveries, online ordering, shipping, and so many more. It seems like there a...
Let me know if you’d like me to write up the recipe for these Cookie Crunch Rice Krispie Treats. It was my first time making them and they did very well in my cart yesterday! And no oven required which helps in July. As for selling models, the pre-order system really only works if you have a strong customer base built already. We live in a day and age where people value convenience. They want to see something and purchase it then and there. If you are building your customer base, plan a...

Freezing decorated cookies has been a lifesaver for me in my home bakery. I’m able to crank out a lot more cookies this way, and I think they actually taste better after being frozen! I can start decorating cookies right after Thanksgiving with this method, and this takes a lot of pressure off of me during the holiday baking season! Have you tried this yet?
