"Located in Melbourne, Australia, Fitzroy Gardens cover 26 acres first landscaped in the Victorian era. Amongst the various lovely features there is the Fairies Tree, a 300 year old Red Gum tree stump, around the base of which fairies and native Australian animals frolic. It was carved by Ola Cohn between 1931 and 1934, and in ... ‘The Fairies Tree’ she wrote “I have carved in a tree in the Fitzroy Gardens for you, and the fairies, but mostly for the fairies and those who believe."
